Job Description:

|
An active Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) practice. Although a member of CLS staff, the attorney's office is located at the offices of the Advocates for the Disabled, a social service agency also serving Social Security disability clients, including children and adults with mental and physical disabilities. The staff attorney works with the advocacy staff of Community Legal Services in addressing systemic issues relating to the receipt of government assistance to disabled persons and participates in related community education efforts. The staff attorney coordinates social security related workshops offered by Community Legal Services, works closely with social workers and a paralegal at the Disability Advocacy Project and assists with a Volunteer Lawyer Project which provides assistance to children with disabilities.

Requirements:
|
|
Member of the Arizona State Bar; eligible to practice under Rule 38 or willing to take next bar exam; have a demonstrated interest in assisting low-income people and in aggressive advocacy. Will consider entry-level lawyers.
